TVS Apache RTR 165 wins Race Performance version

TVS has revealed a special edition of the exclusive Apache RTR 165: the Race Performance version, a new brand from the Indian manufacturer that is related to TVS Racing, its division specializing in competitions.

With limited production of just 200 units, it is powered by the same 165 cm³ single-cylinder engine used in the common version, but improved to offer better performance on the tracks.

Among the improvements, the plant has a racing head with 35% greater intake flow, as well as a spark plug with dual electrodes and 15% larger valves, in addition to double-spring actuators, high-lift valve timing and dome-shaped piston, which offers a higher compression ratio.

According to the brand, these improvements make the engine deliver maximum power of 19.2 hp at 10,000 rpm and 1.50 kgf.m of torque at 7,250 rpm.

The TVS Apache 165 RTR Race Performance still has a slipper clutch, brake and clutch lever adjustments, 5-speed transmission and revised suspensions for its sportier proposal.

The frame uses a stiffer, stability-enhancing double-cradle frame, and it is paired with Showa telescopic front fork and preload-adjustable rear monoshock suspension. The brakes use a single 270 mm disc at the front and 240 mm at the rear, and have an ABS system only on the front wheel.

As far as design is concerned, the small sports car from TVS comes with a sportier tank, TVS Racing colors and graphics, a logo in honor of 15 years of Apache and a premium seat with a special emblem. Red aluminum wheels complete the package, LCD digital panel, headlight and LED lanterns with DRL.

As we said above, the special edition of the TVS Apache 165 RTR Race Performance will only have 200 units produced, and its MSRP is 1,45,000 rupees, something around R$13,000.

In Brazil, TVS Apache is offered by Dafra in the RTR 200 version, and costs R$ 15,990 + shipping. Other models that are also developed by the Indian brand are the G 310 R and G 310 GS, motorcycles developed in conjunction with BMW Motorrad .
