For many years, the Alina festival has been held, which is created by the team of the Olympic champion Alina Kabaeva and her fund. In addition to the usual gala concert, this is an opportunity for young gymnasts from different regions to perform on the same carpet with the leaders of the national team. In this year, the festival was dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. Over a few holidays, many figures showed their work on this topic, but here Alina Kabaeva stood out greatly. She clearly formulated the topic of the evening. Instead of a general story about exploits and some important dates, the athlete identified one problem-children during the Great Patriotic War. The most famous names were not just listed here and called the exploits, but put forward several important aspects of life that had to be held at that time. The first number was under the well -known song “Beautiful Far” by Victoria Solomakhina. Simple children who play, dance and create a carefree and pleasant atmosphere in the room were shown. Gymnastic objects were only a complement and decoration that fit into the concept of a number. It is possible to say that this is the biggest plus of this festival. Not gymnasts were brought to the fore, but the very idea and message of the event. Complex elements were not shown here, and the leaders did not take the leading parties just because of their titles. The rhythmic gymnastics was only a way to tell a story, so the setting of numbers, choreography and visual images came to the fore. What is also atypical for concerts on such topics – this is the lack of familiar markers. Songs of the war years, a stylized dark green shape and some attributes of the past were simply absent in this performance. The plot itself was told in animated inserts between the numbers, but the performances themselves rely on the images and the creation of the right sensation. For example, the current champion of Russia Maria Borisova It is the main star of “Heavenly Grace.” Perhaps in other shows she would be given a major role with a large number of objects to show all its possibilities. In the Alina festival, Maria came out only in one issue where the feat of Zoe Cosmodemyanskaya was told. There were no clear markers who would retell the story and make the audience cry. A clear image of a strong bright character who fights with a huge crowd of enemies. Borisova showed not so much a specific person as a feeling – the struggle of good with evil. The same star composition was in the room where sports were talked during the blockade of Leningrad. Only after that, for the first time in the whole concert, songs were heard that are associated with this time – “Cranes” and “Victory Day”. In the end, the Kabaeva team managed to create a very touching and important event. Without stereotypes and cliches, it is clear how this era was comprehended and revised, it was possible to create a clear and necessary statement.
