The Olympic champion Listunova has a real chance of approval. On days, a meeting of the Executive Committee of the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) in Lausanne was held. The Russian gymnasts finally came positive news – the rules for obtaining neutral status to participate in competitions were revised. Initially, in the release, the changes were voiced in general terms, now a full -fledged document appeared on the FIG website, which entered into force on July 9. What awaits our athletes new? As announced by the Russian gymnastics Federation, a ban on participating in team and group disciplines was lifted. For sports gymnastics at the moment, this does not mean anything: for a performance in the team standings at the world championships, you need to go through the continental championship. So far, the ban from European Gymnastics is in force, Russian gymnasts cannot speak at European championships and, as a result, qualify the team at the World Cup. In the artistic one, in the artistic one, you can now declare not only larchs, but also groups – they have not even been filed for neutral status. Exclusively sports performances for CSKA or Dynamo clubs will not officially interfere with the receipt of neutral status. However, gymnasts from these clubs previously issued a neutral status. Hymnasts who previously received refusal can submit new applications – this is given for three months (until October 9). Alas, for consideration of the questionnaire you will have to pay again. In theory, if you quickly decide, you can have time to get neutral status to the World Cup, which will be held in late October in Jakarta. But it is definitely not worth delaying – the last time the applications were considered for more than two months. The main hopes for the changes are connected, of course, with Victoria Listunova. The Tokyo-2020 champion was refused because of the postcard with the St. George ribbon in social networks. The new regulation states that the tape is considered a prohibited symbol from the date of adoption of the document. So Listunova now has every reason to try to submit a new application.
