Actor Paul Walker died after a car accident in 2013. He was in the midst of the franchise's 7th film recordings and suffered a serious car accident in Santa Clarita, California. The actor was in the vehicle driven by his friend Roger Rodas, a Porsche Carrera GT, who collided with a tree and quickly caught fire. The death of the two occupants was instantaneous.
