Marina Sena explains relationship with Gal Costa: “inspires me”

Marina Sena stirred the federal capital on Saturday night (10/5), during the Funn Festival 2025. The show is part of the new tour, which presents to the audience the newest studio album, entitled Natural Things, consisting of 13 unreleased tracks. In conversation with the MetropolisMarina talked about the expectation for the new phase of her career.

“It's time to do a show, run around Brazil and show the songs to people in a more warm way. I think this exchange is very important.”

It's a very warm people who receive me from the neon rose. It's an audience I've been building for a while,” he said.

Gal Costa as a reference

Marina Sena also talked about the show she did in honor of Gal Costa, during a festival in 2023. The performance marked the career of the singer and drew praise from the public. Proudly, the star revealed that Gal is the artist who inspires her the most.

“I did a whole show for her. It's the artist who inspires me most and the one that inspired me most during my teens. I consume her songs, I think she's the voice that most represents Brazilian music,” he said.

Marina also talked about the legacy of the artist, who died in late 2022. “There is a tone and a way of singing that represents us, and who is from the interior has a special relationship with her voice. Reminds me of the voice of my mother and my aunts. They do not sing as well as she, but remember the tone,” he said.

How was the event

The second day of Funn Festival featured the lineup formed only by women. In addition to Marina Sena, they took the stage Luísa Sonza and Carol Biazin. Already the opening of the event was made by big names in Brazilian music: Umiranda, DJ and collective musical with influences of Afrobeats, Hip Hop and R&B; Daiters, artists who represent the rap of the capital; and DJ Ketlen, another big name from the city's scenario.
