The new Husqvarna Vitpilen 1301 is coming

Developed on the technical basis of the KTM 1290 Super Duke R, the new Husqvarna Vitpilen 1301 has a modern look, characterized by the large round headlight. The engine, a twin-cylinder LC8 of 180 hp, is one of the great attractions.

A prototype of this motorcycle had already appeared in 2016, however, this retro motorcycle has not yet debuted on the market. Now, with the updated KTM 1290 Super Duke, Husqvarna thought it was the perfect time to revive the Vitpilen 1301 project.

Only the large round headlight is a reference to the design of the other models in the range. The new 1301 has lines more like the Super Duke, with sharp angles and a small tail. The frame also appears to be identical to the Austrian naked.

Details that may appear on the Husqvarna Vitpilen 1301

Continuing to identify the particularities of this machine, we find the swingarm on one side, but Husqvarna opted for different rims: they are nine-spoke cast aluminum compared to the five-spoke units of the 1290 Super Duke R.

Even the 1301's exhaust system differs from the KTM's, opting for a dual-end design. Brembo Stylema brake calipers are inset, complete with air ducts for cooling. The engine must also be the same as the KTM: a double LC8 of 1,301 cm3 capable of delivering 180 hp of maximum power and 14.2 kgf.m of torque.

In the most authentic Vitpilen style, the prototype shows mirrors on the edges of the handlebars, an elegant and enveloping front fender and a small protection in front of the exhaust manifolds. The new Husqvarna Vitpilen 1301 is expected for 2023.
